Basement Waterproofing

We were called to survey a property with a lower ground floor and sub-pavement vault that had been converted into a utility room. Basement waterproofing works had previously been carried out by another company which had failed due to failure to junction membranes correctly. The client has complained of dampness appearing to internal plasterboard ceiling. Once removed it become obvious why it had failed.

We were then asked to design the waterproofing as it should be complying with BS8102(2009).

We decided on a Type C membrane system supplied by Oldroyd to which the client’s own builder continued with finishes package to return the area to a usable space.
